Tour Highlights

Itinerary – 3 Days Tour Ouarzazate to Fes

Day 1: Ouarzazate → Skoura → Valley of Roses → Dadès → Todra → Erfoud → Merzouga (≈320 km)

Your day begins amid the film-set landscapes of Ouarzazate, then continues with a meander through Skoura’s palm groves to explore the warm-hued walls of Kasbah Amridil.

This living relic was once featured on Morocco’s 50 dirham note. Next, take a fragrant detour through the Valley of Roses, also known as Kelâat M’Gouna, where terraced fields bloom with Damask roses each spring.

Crossing the western slopes of the High Atlas Mountains, the road plunges into the Dadès Valley. There, carved red cliffs frame centuries-old kasbahs and winding roads known as the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs.”

By midday, the narrow canyon floor of the Todra Gorge, hugged by vertical limestone walls, beckons you for a riverside stroll. In Erfoud, you’ll see workshops carving 400-million-year-old marine fossils before heading to Merzouga.

As the sun sets, you will mount camels and cross the first dunes. You will then settle into a luxury camp where a Berber dinner awaits beneath a starry sky.

Awaken before dawn to witness the rippling crests of Erg Chebbi turn rose and gold. Then, return to camp for a hearty breakfast.

A short drive will take you to nomad tent settlements where you can enjoy mint tea and hear desert survival stories under woven goat-hair canopies.

Further on, the village of Khamlia—the gateway to Sub-Saharan Gnawa culture—resounds with hypnotic rhythms during an intimate music session.

After sampling dates at seasonal Merzouga Lake, pause among the enormous dunes of Erg Chebbi for some sandboarding.

As the afternoon light softens, wander through the lush palm groves that flank the Ziz River, a verdant ribbon that feeds southern oases.

Return to camp for another magical Berber dinner and warm yourself by the lantern light as night envelops the dunes.

Take a final sunrise camel trek over the golden waves of Erg Chebbi, then enjoy breakfast amidst the desert palms.

Head north to revisit Erfoud’s fossil bazaars for last-minute treasures, then climb into Midelt’s apple-sprinkled high plains where crisp mountain air greets you.

Then, the road winds through Azrou’s cedar forests, home to agile Barbary macaques scampering among towering trunks, before crossing into Ifrane. Its alpine villas and manicured parks have earned Ifrane the nickname “Morocco’s Switzerland.”

In the late afternoon, the Atlas Mountains fall away to reveal the medieval skyline of Fes, where your journey will conclude amid the rich history of its storied medina.
